Head of Pantomime department of Kyiv Municipal Academy of Circus and Variety Arts.
Graduated from the Kyiv National I. K. Karpenko-Kary Theatre, Cinema and Television University. Nataliia discovered the practice, history and theory of pantomime from 1970s. During the period of the rise of Pantomime art in the Soviet Union she worked with the most outstanding amateur groups in Kyiv. That gave her the opportunity to gain a lot of experience and information for the subsequent analysis and creation of a method of education for a mime actor. Nataliia leads the teaching process of the pantomime department from the start of its existence to the present day. For the department she created methodology and curriculum for the academia of “Pantomime” and “Plasticity of the movement”. She is also the author of “Pantomime in questions and answers” book.
The department of Pantomime was established as an independent unit in 2000, on the basis of specialisation which existed already in the Academy as a part of department of Variety dance. The original methodology of education to a mime actor, was created within the Academy, and is based on a combination of the Western European school of pantomime and the professional achievements of Ukraine, Eastern Europe and post Soviet area in this field. The foundation of training is formed around classical and traditional pantomime, combined with circus and variety arts. It gives to students the opportunity to create a truly original graduation performance. Also, at the department the student's theater «Mim-art workshop» was created, which participates in artistic festivals within Ukraine and abroad. Teachers in the department are committed on searching for those gifted young people, so that they can train professionals for the future.
